TELL US MORE ABOUT THE CREATION OF YOUR SPOOKY LADIES FOR THE X DOPPLE PRINT COLLECTION

They were prompts from Craig Gleason’s ‘Season of the Bad Guys Club’, which is a 31 day drawing challenge inspired by his really great and really weird characters. I could only manage a handful of days… anyone who completes the whole thing is dedicated/ a genius/a little crazy. Anyways these 4 ladies turned out pretty cool and I’m pumped to have Dopple bring em to life through riso!

DESCRIBE YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS

It always starts on paper, usually on scraps of whatever I can find. The best stuff comes from mindless doodling. If I’m stuck I’ll put on a good record and go down a rabbit hole of looking at imagery and STUFF until something clicks. I scan or photograph and work into it digitally. I always work with a physical result in mind, I don’t want my work to look like it only exists on a screen!

WHAT GETS YOU FEELING INSPIRED?

It’s ever-changing! Rock n roll, well-dressed women, 70’s fanzines, skulls… and risograph printing, duh!
